Beyoncé lands the coveted spot as cover girl for the September issue of Vogue as she discusses what it takes to dominate the world.

In the preview of the issue, many notable celebrities and fashion icons chime in on what makes Bey so memorable and iconic in pop culture. “There is a magnetic presence to her,” Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci said. Stella McCartney added, “Her appeal crosses art forms, genders, and generations. She’s the whole package: primal, rare, delicate, beautiful, and powerful.” Lastly, Marc Jacobs said, “The word diva is used for so many female performers, and it often means they have reputations for being difficult, but she exudes charm and a lovable quality.”

Vogue described Bey’s “appropriation and assemblage” as something “based on the understanding that a mass audience is a mass of niche audiences. Each has its own history, with its own desires, and she empowers them all. The most powerful thing about her persona is the unabashed pleasure she takes in her own body: its beauty, its power, its versatility.”

The September issue of Vogue will be available August 14 via Amazon or at Target stores and officially on newsstands August 25.
