I’ll ask the question we all are pondering: is it October yet? We’re in the last month of the summer so that brings us one month closer to my favorite time of year and fall television. One of GGB’s beloved shows American Horror Story is coming back with this season’s theme being “Hotel” and new details about the show and the official premiere date has been revealed.

During  FX’s Television Critics Assn. press tour on Friday, co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, along with the cast for season five sat down on a panel to break down character details and share what inspired this season. Murphy revealed he was inspired by “a surveillance video from a Los Angeles-based hotel that surfaced two years ago. The footage showed a girl in an elevator who was never seen again.” Yikes!

This season will be set in downtown L.A. and shot in a hotel, duh. Cast members on hand dropped details about their characters. Lady Gaga plays a singer named Elizabeth, a “wealthy social doyenne.” Her character is “consumed with art and fashion and people, and she has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode.” Gaga’s character is also bisexual and will have “relationships with Matt [Bomer] and Angela [Bassett] and Cheyenne [Jackson].”

Sarah Paulson plays Sally, who lives at the hotel and hates Kathy Bates character Iris. Sally has a “budding relationship” with Wes Bentley’s character who is a detective and the husband to Chloe Sevigny’s character named Alex Lowell, she’s a mother and a doctor. “We are dealing with a great loss in our family and coming to grips with that among other things,” Sevigny said during the panel.

Matt Bomer will work closely with Lady Gaga and plays a man named Donovan. Angela Bassett plays a “fabulous actress who doesn’t live at the hotel, but visits often.” She also shared that her character is sexy and has a “strong, long-lasting relationship” with Gaga’s character.

My boy Dandy aka Finn Wittrock plays male model Tristan Duffy and is described as a guy who is “always looking for the next high, and he finds the biggest high in Lady Gaga.” Cheyenne Jackson, another newcomer to AHS family, plays Drake, a fashion icon who is “trying to creatively re-establish himself and moves from New York to L.A. He’s a father and a little desperate.”

Lastly, the great Denis O’Hare plays movie icon Liz Taylor. During the sit down it was said O’Hare isn’t supposed to be the actual Elizabeth Taylor but someone “who is inspired by “Butterfield ” and “Cleopatra.” Taylor works in the hotel and at the lounge called Blue Parrot Lounge.”

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, October 7 on FX.
