The ‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’ Cast Take Over NYC and the Apple Store in Soho

After yesterday I have come to the official conclusion that not only is the cast of FX’s new comedy series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll one of the best ensemble cast put together in television history, but they are genuinely the nicest and most hilarious group of people I have had the pleasure to come in contact with.

With the premiere of the show airing tonight, the cast did a New York City takeover starting with the red carpet premiere on Tuesday following an exciting run at San Diego’s Comic Con. Wednesday, the cast appeared on several talk show settings including: AOL Build series, Huffington Post Live, and the Apple Talks at the Apple Store in Soho. I was determined to see and meet the cast so I attended the Build series and the Apple Talk yesterday in NYC.

The AOL Build series gives an intimate setting for an interview discussion where Denis Leary and Liz Gillies, Elizabeth Gillies, gathered to talk about the show. The talk took a hilarious turn when Liz and Denis starting talking about her future kids [see clip above] and Denis became fascinated with the dolly track the production had.

Later during the Apple Talk, the cast had playful banter about what it was like to work with show creator and star Denis Leary. The show is often described as a story about a “dysfunctional family” and that was evident during the discussion. They all have such natural chemistry and as a middle child you could tell exactly where each actor and actress fall in line with the family, I’m talking to you Robert Kelly.

Can I say meeting Liz Gillies is one of the highlights of my life. Not only is she super talented and super hilarious, she has such a gracious attitude about fame and is the sweetest to her fans. I met her at the Apple Talk in soho and right after I told her she was “f*cking gorgeous,” yes I literally told her that, she said something I forgot before saying around the likes of she saw me in the audience and thought “her make up is on point.” I then blacked out on everything after that, but we got some cute selfies [see below] as I did with three more members of the cast.

I feel like I’ve been talk been talking about this show forever and in every clip I’ve seen for the show I laughed EVERY time, so I know it’s going to be good and I hope it gets greenlit for season 2 to beyond.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is Denis Leary’s triumphant return to FX where he plays washed up rocker Johnny Rock, former lead singer of The Heathens, as he tries to get the fame he always wanted when the daughter he never knew he had, Gigi (Liz Gillies) shows up and offers him money to make her famous. The awesome cast includes: Elaine Hendrix, John Corbett, John Ales, and Robert Kelly.
