Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the 2015 BET Awards live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28.
The evening dedicated to awarding talent in music, film, and sports within the black community celebrated just that as the A-list of black Hollywood gathered. Awards were given out in categories like: Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Video of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Actor, Best Movie, and more.
Along with the main awards there were three special honorees during the ceremony. Smokey Robinson was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, Tom Joyner received the Humanitarian Award, and Janet Jackson accepted the first-ever Ultimate Icon Music Dance Visual Award after a tribute by Tinashe, Jason Derulo and Ciara was performed.
