Melissa Rivers is promoting herself from E! Fashion Police executive producer to co-host! Rivers officially signed on as the new co-host for the show when it returns in a few months.
Rivers will join Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski on Fashion Police when the show returns to E! August 31 and will welcome rotating celebrity guests that will had commentary to the show that dictates what’s hot or not in fashion.
In a press release, Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development for E!, said, “As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape Fashion Police into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy.”
He added, “We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the ‘Fashion Police’ cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode.”
“I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and Fashion Police family,” Rivers said in a statement. She’ll also remain an executive producer for Fashion Police when it returns with a six episode scheduled run.
Fashion Police premiered in 2010 and started going downhill following the unexpected death of the show’s beloved host Joan Rivers in September of last year. Kathy Griffin was added to the show as the new host but soon departed following an incident between Zendaya and Rancic that also caused long time co-host Kelly Osbourne to leave the show. The series went on hiatus in an attempt to revamp.
