What happens when Radiohead and Morrissey mix? Well, you get The Heathens of course, the fictitious rock band from FX’s upcoming series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll starring Denis Leary.
In a new clip from the show premiering this summer, Johnny Rock (Denis Leary) appears to be having a moment with his estranged daughter Gigi (Elizabeth Gillies) while playing a song on the piano combining the likes of bands Radiohead and Morrissey. There has yet to be a full trailer for the half-hour music based comedy but many clips to give audiences a feel for what the show will be like.
SDRR will center around Johnny Rock, a former lead singer of legendary early 90’s New York band The Heathens, getting the band back together after 25 years following personal circumstances that tore them apart to begin with. Gigi comes into the picture as Rock’s estranged daughter with stars in her eyes for fame. She aids in getting the band back together with herself as the lead singer. Could this be the break the band needs.
John Corbett, John Ales, Bobby Kelly and Elaine Hendrix complete the cast of the “dysfunctional rock and roll family.”
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premieres July 16th at 10pm and will air Thursdays on FX!
