Kanye West Receives Honorary Doctorate From Chicago Arts School So much for a college drop out

Kanye West has always been known as the college drop out and one to never smile, but the “All Day” rapper smiled his biggest as he received an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on Monday.

Upon receiving his honorary degree, West addressed the graduating class of 2015. “I am a pop artist, so my medium is public opinion, and the world is my canvas,” he told the audience. He added, “People say you should not be sorry for your opinions… George Bush, has some very cool self-portraits. I didn’t know he was an artist,” referring to the infamous remarks he made about former President George Bush during a Hurricane Katrina telethon in 2005.

The fashion designer shared more tidbits with the graduates saying, “‘I’m sorry’ is something that you can use. It gives you the opportunities to give your opinion, apologize for it, and give it again.”

Kanye West’s albums in the past all made reference to education with such titles like: The College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation. How ironic for him to finally receive a degree.

Kim Kardashian West shared her excitement of her husband’s accomplishments by sharing a photo on social media of West in cap and gown with the caption, “Dr. Kanye West!!!!!!! I’m so proud of you baby & I know your mom would be so proud too!!!! .” Kris Jenner reposted the image to her Instagram account with the caption “#proudmama”

CONGRATS Dr. West on your honorary degree.
