It was a battle of the daytime talk show hosts on Thursdays Lip Sync Battle when Hoda Kotb and Michael Strahan went head to head on television’s guilty pleasure.

In a preview clip, it was known beforehand that Strahan would rap along to Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” dressed in 90’s inspired attire. The retired football star and Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host was later joined by the men themselves, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe to finish out his turn on the second round. In the first round he chose yet another crunk song, Fergie’s “London Bridge.”

But all Michael Strahan efforts were no match for Hoda Kotb, who took home the champ title. In round one, Kotb alter ego came out as she performed Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.” Later, the Today Show fourth hour co-host got the crowd hype when she tackled everybody’s favorite “get down on the dance floor” song “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. You could never lose with that song.

With this win, Hoda Kotb joins fellow Lip Sync Battle champs: Common, Terry Crews, Anne Hathaway, Anna Kendrick, and Dwayne Johnson. In the next few weeks, Hello Ladies actor Stephen Merchant will battle “Watchmen” actress Malin Akerman, and it’s a sibling battle when Dancing With The Stars talent Derek Hough and Julianne Hough go head to head.
