Jamie Dornan is getting his palm twitching and ready to play Christian Grey yet again in the E.L. James’ erotic novels turned films for the second and final parts of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise.
Although “Fifty Shades Darker” is slated for a 2017, *eye roll*, release, and “Fifty Shades Freed” for 2018, we still are getting little gems along the way to keep us interested for another two plus years. In a new teaser trailer for “Fifty Shades Darker” we see the visual to accompany that photo that was released a few days ago of Christian Grey getting ready for some sort of masquerade ball. The 30 second teaser asks “Are you ready for something darker?” as we see Mr. Grey suiting up and putting on a black mask.
According to IMDb, the plot of the follow-up film to “Fifty Shades of Grey” reads, “While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her.” I read the books so long ago, and I don’t have an interest to re-read them, so I’ll have to take my favorite website’s word for the plot.
Dakota Johnson is set to reprise her role as Anastasia Steele, along with Rita Ora and Luke Grimes returning as Christian’s siblings Mia and Elliot Grey, and Victor Rasuk as José. No further stars have been confirmed to return or join the cast.
Niall Leonard, husband to E.L. James, is reported to be working on the screenplay for “Fifty Shades Darker.” Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will not be returning to work on the next film, meaning whatever new director signs on could make the sequel better or worse. GGB will keep you in the loop with all the updates.
