First Look: MTV’s ‘Scream’ – The TV Series – Watch The First Trailer [VIDEO]

We all remember the 1996 cult classic horror film “Scream” starring Neve Campbell right? It was the first horror movie of its kind to poke fun of (that wasn’t written as satire) the clichés that always happens in slasher flicks. It also spawned the Wayans brothers hilarious “Scary Movie” films. Now MTV wants to take a stab, no pun intended, at the genre.

With the success of the network’s mystery/suspense series Eye Candy starring Victoria Justice, MTV is keeping the ball rolling at targeting millennials addiction to technology with Scream, the TV series.

Fresh faces Carlson Young, Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Connor Weil, and Bobby Campo are some of the stars of the new series, due out this summer, structured very similar to the film.The official synopsis of the show reads, “What starts as a YouTube video going viral, soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town’s troubled past.”

The first trailer for Scream showcases all the things you need for a teen horror: Jacuzzi, something going wrong at a school dance, make outs, breaking the fourth wall, a blonde bitch, and secrets.

Scream premieres on MTV June 30.
