Andy Samberg Is Our 2015 Emmys Host – Read His Statement

Andy Samberg is set to host the 2015 Emmy Awards this fall, September 20, 2015 to be exact, and it’s kind of a big deal.

The award-winning Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor/comedian released a statement stating, “Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers! Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts.”

From that statement alone we should have an idea of the way this show is going to go. Put me down as Tickle Me Elmo.

Bruce Rosenblum, Academy of Television Arts & Scienes chairman and CEO, had his own words about the Saturday Night Live alum hosting the show saying, “It’s wonderfully fitting that we have Andy Samberg, an Emmy Award winner himself, as our host for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Andy has excelled in all aspects of the television universe, both from behind and in front of the camera.”

The nominations for the 2015 Primetime Emmys will be announced this summer, July 16. CONGRATS Andy Samberg!
