Essence magazine’s 8th annual Black Women in Hollywood Brunch took place at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on Thursday, February 19.
The star-studded brunch, which celebrated African-American women in the industry, brought out the best of the best in Black Hollywood including: Oprah Winfrey, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tika Sumpter, Garcelle Beauvais,Tia Mowry Hardrict, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lupita Nyong’o, Jurnee Smollett Bell, Carmen Ejogo and more!
Special honors at the event went to actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, actress/director Regina King, the cast of Orange Is The New Black, and costume designer Ruth E. Carter. John Legend and Common were also at the luncheon to perform their award-winning song “Glory.”
For the first time, the Essence brunch will be televised so be sure to catch it this Saturday on the OWN network.
