Last summer we got the first look at the perfection that is “Straight Outta Compton,” a film about the iconic rap group N.W.A.
During the 2015 Grammy’s, a commercial showed former N.W.A group members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube driving through “where it all started” and talking about their journey to music excellence.
That very clip serves as the introduction to the red band trailer “Straight Outta Compton” starring O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E.
The F. Gary Gray (“Friday” and “Set It Off”) directed film depicts the mid-1980s streets of Compton, California and how N.W.A formed and how their craft “revolutionized music and pop culture.” Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright serve as producers and Will Packer is an executive producer with Gray.
