There were hints that there would be a follow-up film to the 2013 magical dramedy “Now You See Me” and now all that’s confirmed, but with a few new additions to the cast.
“Now You See Me” followed four illusionists that became known as the Four Horsemen that rob banks and gave the money away to their audiences. Modern day Robin Hood’s if you will with elaborate magic tricks, but the FBI are hot on their trail to take down the “criminals.”
“Now You See Me: The Second Act” plot summary is described as followed: “One year after the Four Horsemen outwitted the FBI, only this time to find themselves pulling off their most dangerous stunt yet.”
Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Michael Caine are all reprising their roles, as you tell by the photo in this post, but two new people have joined the cast, Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Radcliffe, I guess D Rad can’t stay away from the magic. It’s not clear if Caplan and Radcliffe will be playing illusionists and join the Four Horsemen squad.
I must admit that I was very excited about a “Now You See Me” sequel because I really enjoyed the first film but there are two things that’s bothering me about this. One, that they didn’t call the second film “Now You See Me Too” I mean come on, get with the “Look Who’s Talking” franchise. Two, Lizzy Caplan obviously replaced Isla Fisher as the female in the bunch and I don’t know how I feel about that. I loved Fisher with the boys. I’m hoping scheduling stopped her being in the film and not that she didn’t want to do it.
“Now You See Me: The Second Act” is slated to be in theaters June 10, 2016.
