Naya Rivera Dorsey has found herself in quite the predicament after co-hosting The View this week and voicing her opinion on a peculiar topic; showering.
View co-host Nicolle Wallace mentioned her shower habits leading Rivera Dorsey to share her thoughts on the subject. “I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnic.” The Glee actress said.
She added, “I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing” and “I’m now married to a white man, and he showers a lot, like two, three times a day.” Yeah, so that happened.
Following those statements a slew of backlash took over social media bashing the 28-year-old over what she suggested. I guess people took it as other races don’t shower at all, or frequently. I think the “everyday” part rubbed people the wrong way. To be fair, I don’t think she implied anything that absurd. I’m not going to get on a soapbox and start blogging about my hygiene habits, but everyone is different and to each its own.
Naya Rivera simply responded to the massive amounts of backlash by tweeting, “When you get out of the shower today, get a sense of humor. Love ya!” [SEE BELOW]
