Last night following the premiere of MTV’s new series Eye Candy starring Victoria Justice, which was awesome by the way, I’m so obsessed, you should check it out, the official trailer for the upcoming horror film “Unfriended” was released and it was very terrifying.

The plot summary for “Unfriended” goes as followed according to IMDb: “While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate who killed herself exactly one year ago. A first they think it’s a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends’ darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something out of this world, something that wants them dead. Told entirely from a young girl’s computer desktop, CYBERNATURAL redefines ‘found footage’ for a new generation of teens.”

Cybernatural was the original title of the film, it has since been changed to “Unfriended.” In the trailer, the film points out how much information, a lot of personal information, that we put online and that it remains there forever. It then depicts a character named Laura Barns (Heather Sossaman) committing suicide following an embarrassing video of herself ending up online.

The trailer continues with a mysterious Skype user terrorizing teens in brutal, graphic ways through a computer. How does this person do it? Who knows, I guess we’ll have to see the movie to find out.

“Unfriended” is slated to premiere in theaters April 17, 2015.
