First Look: Check Out The Teaser Trailer For Lifetime’s Whitney Houston Biopic [VIDEO]

Lifetime‘s track record for portraying famous musicians didn’t start off on a good note with the “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B” movie so you can imagine everyone’s hesitation for the Whitney Houston biopic starring Yaya DaCosta as the legend.

Well there’s a teaser trailer out and to be honest, I don’t hate it! With Angela Bassett directing and the use of actual Whitney hits, I think this film won’t be half bad.

In the first look at “Whitney,” we get to see Yaya in action playing Whitney and performing on stage in front of adoring fans, we see her relationship with her ex-husband Bobby Brown (Arlen Escarpeta), her struggles with drug abuse and more.

“Whitney” premieres on Lifetime Saturday, January 17 at 8 p.m.
