It’s Christmas time and that means it’s time to play Mariah Carey‘s hit holiday track “All I Want For Christmas Is You” on repeat because it sure don’t sound the same way live.
Don’t get me wrong, and don’t confuse my honestly for shade because I love Mariah Carey, every song she ever had was a hit. She has the voice of 1,000 nightingales but her live performances these days have not been so great.
On Wednesday, Carey gave a live performance at Rockefeller Center in New York City to officially kick off the holiday season during “Christmas in Rockefeller Center.”
The 44-year-old mother of two was scheduled to pre-tape her performance on Tuesday but NBC pulled her performance when she was three hours late to record. After reconsidering, NBC agreed to let Carey open the show and perform live on Wednesday. The results, a shaky vocal performance that the media ripped apart.
In the isolated vocal track below, you can hear Mariah Carey singing along to the music with her background singers. Now, it’s not all bad, but you can tell she losing that iconic voice which is sad.
