Tracee Ellis Ross stopped Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the success of her ABC show Black-ish and discussed what is was like to grow up with such a famous mother.
If you didn’t realize from her last name, Tracee’s mom is the famed singer/actress Diana Ross. You would think Tracee and her siblings would have a outrageously different childhood from the norm but Miss Ross assured the audience that was not the case.
“I definitely had, we had some extraordinary opportunities, I mean my mom is very much a mom before she is anything else so she never traveled for more than a week, she recorded while we were sleeping, she would wake us up for school every morning…all those kinds of things that were really important to her about creating the reality of our life,” Ross said. She added, “But I also was painted by Andy Warhol, I’ve been to The White House numerous times.”
Tracee Ellis Ross went on to talk about her experience being painted by Andy Warhol and a conversation she had with Michael Jackson as a child with Jimmy Kimmel.
