Exclusive: Glambergirlblog Interviews Vivian Lamolli of Hulu’s “East Los High” Series

Hulu has a hit series that recently got green lit for a third season and it’s called East Los High.

The streamed series is described as drama of high school friends who go through trails and tribulations while attending school and growing up in East Los Angeles. Think Degrassi: The Next Generation with a mix of Fame but in LA and filled with a hot Latino cast.

I had a telephone interview with Vivian Lamolli, who plays Filliberta Rodriguez, late last week and we talked about everything from her character “Filli,” what she does in between shooting and even her celebrity crush. Check out some excerpts below.

Vivian Lamolli On East Los High and her Character:

“Well currently it’s the love of my life. We’re now in the second season of the Hulu original series East Los High and it’s an entire Latino cast and we play high school students going through every day high school situations..I think kind of turned up. The drama’s turned up when there’s a lot of suspense and I feel a lot of particular issues that you know that a lot of shows don’t touch upon so now such as bullying, safe sex, domestic violence. And my character Filliberta Rodriguez is right in the middle of it all. She’s on the bomb squad which is the awesome dance team of East Los High and we’re just in competition and very competitive and always ready to go. She’s that every day high school student who cares for her friends and at the same time um you know likes to enjoy herself, have fun and you know just be a teen.”

Vivian Lamolli On Preparing for Season 3 of East Los High:

“Well Amber, besides you know just continuing to practice, each of us, and you know I can speak for you know a lot of my cast mates, their very focused and intent on what this next story line is and ready to go, so for me I feel like you know we’re definitely always studying our craft, taking class, continuing to audition, practice makes perfect and the experience of that all makes it, you know makes it all that better. In addition we’re dancing so much, we go right back into our routines and we’ve got to hit it even harder in season 3 so it’s all about rehearsing, and staying on top of it and keeping up with your craft.” 

Vivian Lamolli On What A Typical Day Is Like For Her:

“Whoo, yes ma’am. It’s definitely not um low intensity. I would say I’m always at a 10, always high intensity. If I’m not in the gym I mean just this morning I can kind of go through today. I had a session with my trainer at 6:30am, um from there got ready, got prepped, I had a couple of auditions today and now I’m speaking with you which is such an amazing opportunity, I’m so glad to be here with you but I would say definitely keeping up my craft, definitely going to every audition that I’m sent out for.”

Vivian and I then got into some fun rapid fire questions of what movie she quotes the most, the last book she read, her celebrity crush, if she’s taken or single and much more!
