On Thursday night, The View co-host Sherri Shepherd announced that she would be leaving the popular daytime talk show.

In a statement, the actress and comedian said, “It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

Not too long after Shepherd made her statement, pal Jenny McCarthy followed her lead and revealed that she was leaving the show as well. In a stream of tweets McCarthy posted, “If Sherri goes… I go too. #sisters,” along with, “My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year.”

Shepherd joined the show in 2007, while McCarthy recently signed on just last fall.

The news of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy leaving The View comes one month after the huge send off for renowned anchor and The View creator Barbara Walters’ retirement.
