Barbara Walters says to goodbye to television and The View on Friday’s show surrounded by her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, along with prominent women in media.
On the show that was taped Thursday, big, female names in media like Oprah Winfrey, Katie Couric, Meredith Viera, Gayle King, Robin Roberts, Kathie Lee Gifford, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Diane Sawyer, Savannah Guthrie, and more paid tribute to Walters who were referred to as her legacies.
Walters final show on The View included special appearances by Hillary Clinton, Cheri Oteri as Walters interviewing herself, and Michael Douglas. In the final moment of Walters on The View, she gave an insight sign off.
“How do you say goodbye to something like 50 years in television?,” Walters asked. She continued, “From the bottom of my heart to all of you with whom I have worked and to all of you who have watched and been at my side for so many years, I can say thank you, thank you — but then, who knows what the future brings?”
