If you followed my 13 Days of Glamberween Halloween stream of posts you know that “Rosemary’s Baby” is one of my obsessions. Funny thing is as I watched it last night I wondered if a remake had ever been done on the 1968 film; I swear I have a third eye sometimes.

NBC has announced that a “Rosemary’s Baby” miniseries has been greenlit for the new year.

In a statement to DeadlineNBC’s Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said, “As we move into the event movie and miniseries space, ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ represents the kind of attention-getting, surprising project that will make noise for us. The story has been updated and moved to Paris, but it’s faithful to the spirit of Ira Levin’s classic novel.”

“Rosemary’s Baby” originally is the best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin about Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse, a young couple who moved into a haunted Paris apartment. After Rosemary becomes pregnant she begins to think crazy things are happening to her.

In the film version Mia Farrow plays Rosemary and John Cassavetes plays Guy who moves into a New York City apartment as Rosemary’s struggling actor husband looks for work. She also gets pregnant in that version and discovers she’s the victim of a cult attack.

NBC plans to stick to the novel version and will be shooting in Paris starting January 2014. Oscar and Emmy nominated Agnieszka Holland will serve as director for the film following the written screenplay by Scott Abbott and James Wong. Side note, Wong writes for my fav show American Horror Story so this miniseries may actual hold up to my expectations. I wonder who will play Rosemary?
