I stumbled across a great video early this afternoon of The Hollywood Reporter executive editor Matt Belloni and executive editor of features Stephen Galloway moderating a roundtable discussion with some very talented women in Hollywood.
THR does frequent roundtables where a number of topics about Hollywood are discussed but this one featured top actresses who’ve had buzzed film projects this year – all Oscar worthy in my opinion.
Oprah Winfrey (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler), Amy Adams (“American Hustle”), Emma Thompson (“Saving Mr. Banks”), Julia Roberts (“August: Osage County”), Octavia Spencer (“Fruitvale Station”), and Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years A Slave”) all sat down to discuss crying on camera, the types of roles they refuse to take, scary moments they’ve had on set, sacrifices for their art and more.
I found this interview so interesting, honest and motivating and I’m not even an actress. I really love to see people who are passionate about their craft and how they perceive certain things. The discussion is about 54 minutes long and yes I did watch the entire thing, so should you.
