The Reason Behind North West: No KKK Comparisons!

Finally, some meaning behind the name North West! While this may seem like a sort of bizarre reason, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had chosen the name to avoid any comparisons to the Ku Klux Klan. So they went the safe route and named their child after ordinal directions!

In a video clip from their family trip to Mykonos, Kim is chatting with sister Kourtney and stepbrother Brody Jenner about the name. They both agree they like the name North and Kim expresses her worry about if the North had a ‘K’ name. Kim explains, “Our kid, if it’s a K, then they’ll call us the KKK.” Well, that’s one reason to opt for a different letter!

In all seriousness, that’s not the real reason why North has been given her name. The new parents are said to see the name as an “inspirational” name rather than to be taken literally and to inspire the highest potential of themselves as a couple and a family. Aww! That’s very sweet for Kimye. And besides, it’s definitely not the weirdest name Hollywood has seen!
