Idris Elba Channels Nelson Mandela In ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’ [Trailer Thursday]

Today is the 95th birthday of former South Africa president and civil rights activists Nelson Mandela so I thought today would be perfect to share the trailer for “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” for this week’s Trailer Thursday. 

In “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” Idris Elba plays Mandela with Naomie Harris playing his wife Winnie. The film is the chronicle tale of Nelson Mandela’s life journey and all the struggles he faced leading up to being elected the first democratically president of South Africa.

The film will be in theaters January 3, 2014 in the UK but we’ll have to wait and see when it comes to the states.
