Sharknado Harbors 1.4 Million Viewers and A Possible Sequel!

Thank you to Syfy for bringing us this fabulous new gem in the pop culture world! On Thursday night, “Sharknado” premiered on the science fiction network and brought in a huge crowd – 1.4 million viewers! And if that isn’t enough, producers Paul Bales and David Latt said they would “love to make a sequel”. Oh lord!

So what exactly is “Sharknado?” It stars 90210 (the original) alum, Ian Ziering and everyone’s favorite blonde, Tara Reid, in an epic adventure of a tornado that brings sharks out of the water and flying around. That plus Ziering fighting it them off with a chainsaw, it gets crazy. While it might not be the best storyline, the acting is so cheesy that you can’t stop watching or laughing. Way to go Syfy!

The movie also took OVER Twitter, with #Sharknado trending worldwide and 5000 tweets a minute. That’s more tweets than the Red Wedding episode of Game of Thrones last month! Who knows if it’s a box office hit but it definitely was through social media. I’m just hoping we don’t have a sharknado anytime soon!
