We know that Eminem is arguably one of the best rappers and lyricists of all time. He came from a rough background and really broke through the scene as one of the best white rappers out there. What we don’t really know a lot about is his battle with drugs and rehab. In his new film, “How To Make Money Selling Drugs”, he sheds light on what addiction was like for him.

Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) went to rehab in 2005 for prescription pills and pain medication. He recalls not thinking he had a problem, because he wasn’t on drugs like “crack or heroin.” His wake up call? An overdose that nearly killed him. He explains, “Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down. They didn’t think I was gonna make it.”

Not one to be shy about anything, Eminem first opened up about addiction on his album Recovery, which dropped in 2010. His new film will be a documentary, featuring interviews with people like Russell Simmons about the rapper’s abuse. The film debuts today and you can check out a sneak peek of it here.
