Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj Confirm They’re Leaving ‘Idol’; Is Keith Urban Next?

It seems like American Idol is indeed cleaning out its closet.

Earlier this month, Randy Jackson, the last judge that has been with Idol since the beginning, announced that after 12 years he was leaving the show permanently.

After Randy’s announcement, rumors went into high gear that the remaining judges were all set to be leaving the show as well. Mariah Carey was first to confirm she was leaving Idol retweeting a tweet from Publicity firm PMK stating, “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol.”

Soon after, Nicki Minaj tweeted, “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!” Seems like Twitter is the way to make official statements these days.
