Casting News: Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone Join ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

And American Horror Story season 3 just got a little bit better!!

I was a late bloomer watching the show but I have since become absolutely obsessed with FX’s American Horror Story. It’s a drama based around different themes, season 1 was a haunted house and season 2 was an insane asylum, and things just get crazy, but in the best possible way it can for television.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY SEASON 3 TITLE REVEALED 

Back in March, the title and premise for season 3 was revealed. American Horror Story: Coven will follow a story based around witches and witchcraft; that should be very exciting. In March, it was also announced that award-winning actress Kathy Bates would join season veterans Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Taissa Farmiga.

But that’s not all of the big names joining AHS season 3. On Sunday, May 12, Ryan Murphy, creator of the series, tweeted, “Two legends are joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven — Oscar nominee Angela Bassett and Tony winner Patti LuPone!”

“Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe is also a new member of the AHS cast for season 3.
