‘Newlyweds’ No More…Nick and Jessica Haven’t Spoken in Years

We were all hoping for a happy ending, weren’t we? I remember when I found out that my iconic pop couple, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson were getting a divorce. It was extremely difficult for me (dead serious). However, it was easy to see on their reality show, “Newlyweds”, that the spark was fading with each episode. According to Nick, he feels like their relationship was a “lifetime ago” and the pair haven’t spoken in six years. This breaks my heart.

Lachey, along with the rest of 98 Degrees, appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, May 7 to discuss their upcoming tour, new music, and of course old relationships with host Andy Cohen. Being the jokester that he is, Andy even asked Nick if he had ever watched old “Newlyweds” episodes, to which he replied, “It’s not a popular viewing in my house!” Lolz, I’d expect wife Vanessa Minnillo wouldn’t approve!

All lighthearted and in good fun, it seems. But when asked what the best thing about not dealing with former father in law, Joe Simpson, was, Nick’s brother Drew Lachey chimed, “Can I answer this one? Everything!” Wow. Right to the point there. Nick followed up with how holidays are better now that he doesn’t have to “play grab ass under the table with Joe Simpson.” Well, I wasn’t expecting that!
