As long as we waited, the 2013 Met Gala came and went in a New York Minute!
The annual costume ball that celebrates the opening of The Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit brings out the hottest celebrities from all walks of life. I’m talking fashion designers, musicians, pop culture phenomenon’s and tinsel town’s most beautiful men and women.
If you followed me on Twitter (@Glambergirlblog) yesterday then you got the firsthand scoop of all the arrivals of the May 6, NYC event. Since the Met Gala is a MAJOR fashion event, all the famous Glamberous Ones didn’t hold back giving eye-catching looks, good and bad, on the red carpet of the Punk: Chaos to Couture themed celebration.
As always I’m giving you my favs from the event but this time around it’s my Glamberous Fashion Forward and Fashion Fail looks from the 2013 Met Gala red carpet.
Anne Hathaway debuted her gorgeous blonde hair at the 2013 Met Gala and looked marvelous in this black Valentino gown. She’s definitely giving chic cat women. Fashion Forward.
The queen arrived fashionable late but in a statement piece. Beyoncé wore Givenchy with matching knee boots. Since I was only a fan of this look from the neck up I’ll have to give it a Fashion Fail.
Jennifer Lawrence looked more like she was going to a fancy funeral rather than a punk couture event in her Dior dress. The veil over her face was unique I guess but I have to give this a Fashion Fail.
Where do I even begin with Miss Kim Kardashian? Her face will always be gorge but I did not like this Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci look at all. I mean neck to fingertips floral AND matching shoes is just too much. I expected more from you Kimmie; Fashion Fail.
My Ki Ki redeemed herself from last year to me. Kristen Stewart came punk couture ready with this Stella McCartney, laced trimmed pants romper. And can we talk about her spiked heels; Gah love her, Fashion Forward.
Come ON Miles; serving sexy punk chic on the carpet. Miley Cyrus wore a fishnet overlay Marc Jacobs dress and was clearly feeling herself on the carpet. Fashion Forward.
Nicole Richie made quite the statement with her metallic white hair and a Topshop gown. Wasn’t she giving you Hades from Hercules? I love you Nic but I have to give this a Fashion Fail.
Nina Dobrev is just a vision in this Monique Lhuillier pants look with a sheer dress overlay. There isn’t nothing I didn’t love about this look and although it isn’t punk to me she gets a Fashion Forward call.
Sarah Jessica Parker lived up to her Carrie Bradshaw counterpart in her Giles gown and gave quite the fashion statement on the red carpet. I LOVED her spiked mohawk head-piece and red plaid knee boots. She got the punk memo; Fashion Forward.
Taylor Swift ditched her good girl persona and looked like a vixen on the prowl for her next boo in her J Mendel gown. You had to get some numbers that night Swifty; Fashion Forward.
Uma Thurman SLAYED the game in this green Zac Posen gown. I mean she was barely noticeable, statuesque and looked like a fashion model; Fashion Forward.
