“The Twilight Saga” is baby and although the saga has come to end I do feel like I could be cheating on it if I get too involved with “The Hunger Games” series. But after seeing the trailer for “Catching Fire,” I hope Twi can understand.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” trailer debuted during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 14. All tributes were on the edge of their seats anxiously awaiting the first look at the second part of the three-part series.
The first trailer for the film revolves around District 12 victors Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) doing a tour of Panem in celebration of being the first two winners of the yearly Hunger Games competition. A not so happy President Snow (Donald Sutherland) consults with the new Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) about how they can take down Katniss and destroy the new-found rebellious ways of the districts.
The trailer features riots, devious plotting and a steamy kiss but sorry tributes no previews of the Hunger Games competition in “Catching Fire.” Damn, I wanted to see Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) in action. Franchise favorites: Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks), Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) and Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) are all back to reprise their roles in the film.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will be in theaters November 22 but you can catch up on the first film, “The Hunger Games,” now available on Netflik.
