MTV Movie Awards 2013: Rebel Wilson’s Opening Scene

The MTV Movie Awards of 2013 were kicked off with a high note, literally! Host Rebel Wilson put on an amazing opening monologue, starting with a hilarious scene with James Franco. It began with Franco traveling to Rebel’s native Australia to tell her she was selected to host the show. Wilson, clad in a bright pink koala outfit, accepts and is whisked away in an “IronMan” esque suit to arrive at the Awards.

While the chemistry between James and Rebel was cute and quirky, nothing beats her rendition of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. This transitioned into a whole routine, featuring her Pitch Perfect co-stars, performing a mix of “Lose Yourself”, “Thrift Shop”, and “Girl On Fire”.

Rebel began her monologue on stage in a leather, domantrix type outfit with some raunchy jokes involving some national security, Lena Dunham, and MTV’s 100th Anniversary of the Movie Awards (lols). Of course, she delivered each one in her quintessential nonchalant way, which made it even more hilarious. For her first time hosting, I’d say she rocked it! What do y’all think?
