We are coming close to the end of the season and things are getting G-O-O-D on HBO’s critically acclaimed series GirlsThere’s a few things that have really stuck out to me in this episode: Adam is like my new crush, Marnie actually has talent, Shosh is getting sick of Ray’s sh*t and poor ole Hannah is falling apart.

In the eighth episode titled, “It’s Back,” we discover Hannah has OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is set off when she receives a phone call from Adam which she ignores. She then erupts into a tick she does eight times.Throughout the episode we see this repetitive eight count fit that she does with eating eight chips, bumping a stranger eight times and saying mantras to herself in the mirror eight times. (Sidenote: clever, clever Lena for doing this concept in the EIGHTH episode).

Meanwhile we see Ray, Shoshanna and Marnie walking in the park as Shosh discusses Jessa’s disappearance (I hope she comes back before the season’s end) and Ray mentions Charlie’s, Marnie’s ex, huge business success. He’s created an app and has a business with eleven employees at an office in Chelsea. Marnie is shocked by this news and darts off, clearly heading her way to Charlie’s office. As Shosh and Ray are left alone walking in the park they roll into Shosh’s friend who invites them both to a party. Ray refuses to go to a college party because he’s thirty-three, understandable, and Shosh storms off annoyed. I see the end is near for these two.

We get to see my boy Adam a lot in this episode, which I love because he’s so funny. Adam attends an AA meeting where he opens up about his true hurt over his breakup with Hannah. He was so sweet and earnest and I think in that instance I fell in love with him, so did an attendee of the meeting. Well she did for her daughter Natalia; Adam calls her and arranges a date. These two are super cute together too! The conversation went really well on the date and Adam was very surprised at how easy it was to talk to her.

Back in Chelsea, Marnie heads into Charlie’s office because she was “in the neighborhood” and wanted to congratulate him. Mind you, Marnie is looking a mess, NOT a good way to see an ex if you ask me. Charlie is very irritated by Marnie and clearly is over her because he was throwing shade left and right by insinuating she wanted money from him. We find out Charlie’s app he created that earned him huge success was “Forbid,” an app that prevents you from calling someone you shouldn’t call. If you do want to call them, you have to pay $10 to “unforbid,” very interesting if you ask me.

Hannah has dinner with her folks that are in town and they pick up on the fact that her OCD is back. They try to convince her to come home and deal with it in the way that parents say snide comments. Hannah isn’t having any of it and finds retreat in the bathroom after running out on a Judy Collins performance and bumping into a stranger eight times.

Shosh comes back into the scene when she attends her friend from the park party. She’s flirty with the door man, who is actually pretty hot, before heading up to the party. She tries to engage her friend in conversation only to be ignored. I think in that moment Shosh realizes she’s outgrown this party scene so she decides to leave. But before she leaves she has a make out sess with the door man after he throws her a few compliments. Ut Oh, I see a pending huge meltdown between Ray and Shosh.

Speaking of Ray, for someone who doesn’t have his sh*t together he offers really good advice. Marnie comes into the apartment, I assume that has become a Three’s Company situation, angry about Charlie’s success when Ray asks her what she really wants to do and Marnie confesses she wants to sing. Initially Ray asks her for a second option until he hears her. And to everyone’s surprise Marnie has some vocals. Ray basically tells Marnie the time is now and if you want to do something DO IT! Wise words my friends.

The show ends with Hannah trying to come to grips with her OCD. Her parents force her to see a therapist and Hannah talks about her stress over her e-book and breakup with Adam. She gets into detail about her OCD and how it was very sexual dealing with it in high school. She’s given medication and Hannah takes the subway home with her folks. They all looked very happy, said no one ever.
