Photo Op: Black Women in Hollywood Celebrate Greatness With Essence

For six years Essence magazine has created an event to celebrate black women in Hollywood simply called ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood. In the annual event, that took place on Thursday, February 21, the beautiful women of black Hollywood gather to walk a red carpet and honor each other with awards of excellence in their field.

This year the honorees for the event include Oprah Winfrey, actresses Gabrielle Union, Naomie Harris, Quvenzhane Wallis and Alfre Woodard. Mara Brock Akil, showrunner/producer of The Game and Girlfriends, was also honored.

Guests and presenters in attendance were Tia and Tamera Mowry, La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland, Zoe Saldana, Naomi Campbell, Lauren London, Shaun Robinson, Golden Brooks, Jill Marie Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross and more!
