Mr. Quentin Tarantino is no novice for being the center of controversy with his provocative films but has he treaded into the deep end by signing off on “Django Unchained” dolls?

The Daily Beast revealed details on this new business venture that has been in the works for a while. Last fall, the National Entertainment Collectibles Association, Inc. (NECA) announced a full line of products based on characters from the film that would be available for consumers. Each of the characters in Django played by Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Remar and Christoph Waltz would be immortalized in eight-inch action figures each dressed in tailored clothing along with weaponry and accessories. The dolls are now ready for purchase on Amazon.

My main question is who exactly are these dolls for? What parent in their right mind would buy these for their children? Are these suppose to be a gag gift; because I don’t get the joke. I understand that dolls/action figures have been made in the past based off popular films but for this type of movie with the themes of slavery and brutal massacre; I just can’t grasp the concept that someone thought this was a great idea.

Now I didn’t get offended with the movie but I think dolls, action figures, whatever you want to call them is a step too far! What about you? Do you think Quentin Tarantino crossed into major offensive territory here?
