After five years and six seasons, the beloved The CW show “Gossip Girl” ended with a two-hour series finale on Monday, December 17. Be warned, this post contains spoilers!

The “two-hour” series finale wasn’t really two hours of GG but a one hour special with interviews and behind the scenes footage with the cast and writers followed by the one hour conclusion of the show filled with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and the rest of the gang’s drama.

I weened myself off of “Gossip Girl” seasons ago but I was still interested to know how the show would end and who would be revealed as gossip girl. The last show tied up loose ends with Dan giving the last chapter of his book about the Upper East Side to Nate and “The Spectator” revealing who gossip girl was. Blair and Chuck were slightly on the run after they witnessed Bart Bass, Chuck’s father, fall to his death after a fight Chuck and Bart had about their long-lasting dysfunctional relationship. Chuck and Blair FINALLY became husband and wife and everything else in the episode was rather irrelevant to me.

The age-old question and show’s biggest mystery was finally revealed: who the hell was gossip girl?! Who had all the juicy details and secrets to the lives of Manhattan’s elite. Was it Kristen Bell? I mean she was the voice behind the gossip queen throughout the show. Or was it Dorota? Blair’s trusted maid did know everything about everything. Well hold on to your designer pantyhose ladies, gossip girl was none other than Dan Humphrey aka Lonely Boy! Dan revealed he started the site as a way to enter the elite world. His first post  about his infatuation with Serena catapulted the site and his unbeknownst power in the UES. And get this Little J knew the entire time! Two points for the kids from Brooklyn!

But can we please talk about the five-year later look into the character’s future that showed an adorable baby Bass aka Henry – Blair and Chuck’s dapper son. As well as Little J aka Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) and Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) showing up just in time for Dan and Serena’s wedding. My “Gossip Girl” heart swooned and wished I could send in a tip!

I think the show ended well despite the ridiculous plot lines of the last few seasons. How did you feel about the send off to “Gossip Girl?”
