Cover Girl Werk: Gabby Douglas Covers ESSENCE

Gabby Douglas sure is living a great  year. Cover girl, young Olympic winner, endorsement deals and being practically BFF’s with the first lady; what else could a 16- year-old girl ask for?

Douglas has earned a cover on ESSENCE magazine for their December ‘Women of the Year’ issue. Smiling bright in a Notte by Marchesa black frock with a gold accent, Gabby makes the cover story with the headline “Gabby Takes Flight.”

Gabby is loving her year in the spotlight. She told ESSENCE, “In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!” Gabby landed a guest spot on one of her favorite television shows “The Vampire Diaries” and even performed with Alicia Keys during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, I must admit all that IS so cool.
