Remake of The Original ‘Sparkle’ Is Coming To Theaters Starring Jordin Sparks

“Sparkle” has probably received more press since the late Whitney Houston passed but the trailer for the film has been officially debuted and it has people buzzing. “Sparkle” is a remake of the 1976 film that depicts a girl group trying to make it in the Motown era and all the obstacles they face while obtaining fame. The 2012 version stars Whitney Houston as matriarch Emma and Jordin Sparks as the breakout solo star Sparkle Williams.

And I must say the cast is beautiful! I don’t think I’ve seen so many beautiful people in 2 minutes and 30 seconds in my life! I vaguely remember seeing the orignal; you know it was one of those movies growing up that your mom sat you down and made you watch. The film doesn’t look half bad though and is set to be released on August 17, 2012. Will you get sparkled this summer?
