There is always a struggle trying to tap into the entertainment industry. I’ve learned thus far that determination and confidence are your best weapons to have trying to fight your way into the business. I recently sat down with up and coming artist and friend Esjae to discuss his rise to fame.

Born Samuel Jackson in the Bronx, NY, music has always been something Sam wanted to pursue. Known by the stage name Esjae, both of his parents are musicians so being a musician came natural to him. There are many things that influenced Esjae’s sound and he describes it as “a hybrid of soul and alternative pop.”

As an unsigned artist Esjae has done really well for himself. He released an EP and is working on a full length album. His proudest moment as an artist so far is when his first music video was premiered on television. “Even though it was public access TV it still premiered and it was “Gone” and now I have a lot of fans who are starting to watch it all over the world,” Esjae boasts.
