Breaking Down Breaking Dawn Part 1

The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 is finally in theaters! I saw the midnight showing last night and I am still in awe.

I think director Bill Condon tapped into his Edward Cullen mode because he was so reading my mind editing this film. There were parts in the movie that I LITERALLY thought should happen and they did. For example; when I was listening to the soundtrack I was imaging where certain songs should go and long and behold they were in the same exact spot I imagined they would be. And with the ending of the film, I won’t ruin it for those who haven’t seen it, but it was EXACTLY how I thought it should be, like exactly! I was so happy but sad at the same time because part 2 needs to be here!

Now let’s talk about the film as a whole. I am a true Twihard so I will admit the good and the bad. There were parts that were super cute i.e. anything with Edward and Bella. That honeymoon was so romantic, sweet and funny. It could have been longer and not just the sex scene but hey, that’s what DVD extras are for, right? Edward’s interaction with a pregnant Bella was also so precious. Emmet, Kellan Lutz character, really was the comedic relief in this one and the rest of the Cullen clan were equally as great. Taylor Lautner role as Jacob  brought out the more corny parts of the film. The stuff with the wolf pack was kind of weird but I only seen the movie once, so far, and need to see it a few more times to analyze deeper. The birth scene was very intense as reported. I got teary eyed at all the desperation in that scene. It was beautifully shot as well.

Lastly, a thing that hit home to me was the constant play of “Bella’s Lullaby“.  I’m so happy Carter Burwell did the music score for the last two films because this HAD to be in these movies. The lullaby appeared throughout the film and the way it’s used in the end really had me in tears!

What were your thoughts about the film? Were you happy with the outcome? Keep in mind Twihards the only thing better than Breaking Dawn in theaters is Breaking Dawn on DVD in a few months! Whoo!
