Singer and music icon Selena Quintanilla was taken way before her time but her legacy forever lives on in her still devoted fans and for the new ones discovering her music. Google forever slays their homepage with animated goodies, but today they decided to do something special.

On October 17 back in 1989 Quintanilla released her first studio album Selena. Her career was on the rise when she was tragically murdered in 1995. Google posted an animated cartoon tribute via YouTube with the message, “Today we celebrate Selena Quintanilla: Mexican-American music & entertainment icon, fashion trendsetter, passionate entrepreneur, and community philanthropist.” The video featured her hit single “Bidi bidi bom bom” and showed her journey to fame.

Watch the amazing tribute to Selena Quintanilla celebrating the release of Selena’s first studio album in the animated cartoon below. What’s your favorite Selena song? Share your thoughts in the comments.
