It’s #MusicMonday and that means it’s time to feature a new artist!

London-based singer/songwriter Sharlene-Monique released her debut single and music video for a sultry, emotional track called “You.” Written by the singer herself and produced by her husband Chris Morris (chrismorrismusic.com), the video features an array of black girl magic and was produced by Msmono Productions duo Director Rebecca Coley and Screenwriter Karla Williams.

The song “You,” mixed by Grammy-Award winning mix engineer Alan Branch, is a song of self-love in essence. In the visual, a young girl transform into a young adult all the while going through a journey of discovering how to be none other than herself and being completely in love with that person. On the track itself, the Media Performance graduate’s church rooted vocals are evident as she belts melodious harmonies just as beautiful as the singer.

“I’m really excited to be releasing music that I feel so passionate about. I really hope people connect with the message of the song. The video stirred up so many emotions inside because it reflects elements of my past,” Sharlene-Monique said.
