FOX Cancels ‘Pitch’ – The Stars Weigh In And Thanks The Fan

Sad news for fans of the FOX series Pitch. Just after one season and being left in the air if the show would return, cast members of the trending series confirmed that Pitch would not return for season 2.

Pitch premiered last Fall television season in September and followed Ginny Baker, a young pitcher who became the first female to play in the major leagues of baseball. The show was well received by fans and GGB. We tweeted every Thursday along with other fans who made #PitchPlease and #Pitch a trending topic every week, so it’s rather strange that it didn’t get renewed.

The stars weighed in and thanked fans for supporting the show. Kylie Bunbury, who played the lead character Ginny Baker, shared on Instagram a photo of herself as her character on a baseball field. She captioned the photo, “My heart is heavy. 💔 Pitch will not be returning. I don’t have some eloquently thought out caption, because I’m still processing it all.”

She continued, “Ginny Baker has profoundly changed my life and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play a role that resonated with so many people. I wasn’t ready to let go of Ginny, but more than anything I wasn’t ready to let go of my Pitch family- the cast, crew, creators and writers, thank you for the magic. MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!- Thank you to all of the fans who took the journey with us! Your support and love for the show has always moved us deeply! I love you all. ❤️ Ginny Baker out ✌🏽⚾️.”

Meagan Holder, who played Ginny’s confidant Evelyn Sanders, wrote “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”…. I’ll forever have the biggest smile because @pitchonfox happened. This cast. The crew. The writers. The creators. Honestly some of the best people I’ve ever met, let alone had the privilege to work with every day. So grateful for the time spent playing Evelyn Sanders. What a gal 😜Thank you to everyone who loved the show as much as we truly loved making it. 😘.”
