Being a woman isn’t easy. We’re expected to make the bacon, come home cook it, and look good doing it as well. On Wednesday, March 8th, an unofficial holiday swept the nation lovingly known as #InternationalWomensDay, or a day without women, where being female was celebrated.
On social media, women, and men, praised the ladies in their lives, encouraged the population, and basically shared how awesome women are all day long. To celebrate on GGB I thought I’d share a clip of writer/novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie speaking on the importance of feminism. You may recognize the name and voice from Beyoncé’s “Flawless” record. Get into it ladies!
Watch Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie deliver a talk about why we should all be feminist in the clip from TEDx Talks below. Share your thoughts in the comments and Happy International Women’s Day once again.
