Hairspray Live! is three days away and the latest preview for the production airing on NBC later this week is filled with color, big dance numbers, and Jennifer Hudson belting out major vocals.
Hudson plays Motormouth Maybelle in the musical event about a teenage girl, Tracy Turnblad (Maddie Baillio) in early 1960’s Baltimore with hopes of appearing on a popular TV dance show. In the preview for the Hairspray Live! Hudson shows off her major singing range doing a number, Kristin Chenoweth and Dove Cameron, who play TV mom and daughter, yet again, are conniving Velma and Amber Von Tussle, Ariana Grande dances and sings around, and more! AND I just saw on IMDb that Ricki Lake, the 1988 film’s version of Tracy, will be making an appearance on the live production. I am now officially IN!
