Beyoncé got the beyhive buzzing on Saturday when she dropped the music video for a new single called “Formation.”
The upbeat track is giving me “7/11” realness in that who the hell knows what Bey is talking about on this track. The video is set down south (New Orleans) giving a little “Déjà vu,” down by the bayou vibe with appearances by Blue Ivy dancing in the vid. And I must say that’s really the best part to me and the formation, see what I did there, of the choreography. The dancers and Bey did the damn thing on that, but other than that, I’m not too sure how I feel about the song and I hope this isn’t any indication of what they new album will be like. Will I buy it? Of course, I’m not a crazy person, but I won’t be excited about it.
Bey’s new track comes just one day before she is set to take the stage at Super Bowl 50 and perform with Coldplay and Bruno Mars at the halftime show.
