Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson Join ‘American Horror Story’ Season 5

To wrap up Paley Fest 2015, American Horror Story had a panel discussion featuring some of the series vets like Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Denis O’Hare to talk about American Horror Story: Freak Show.

The one-hour live event was streamed online with an awkward panel discussion of behind the scenes action for the past season, gratuitous use of the word “fire” whenever someone was about to reveal too much, and an infinite amount of “f bombs,” Lange and Paulson were wasted.

Naturally there was commentary on if Jessica Lange was indeed leaving the show for good with danced around responses leading me to believe we might have a chance of more Lange in the AHS future.

Per usual, new cast members and elements of the upcoming season are announced, and although we didn’t get any details about American Horror Story: Hotel, like who’s returning, filming locations, nothing, we did get Matt Bomer!

Yes, Matt Bomer was announced as the male lead for season 5 along with one more new face, a fellow Ryan Murphy television family member; Glee’s Cheyenne Jackson. The two men join Lady Gaga who announced her part in the show and the new theme last month on Twitter.

Bomer made a brief appearance on season 4 of AHS, Freak Show, as [spoiler alert] Andy the male prostitute who was murdered by Finn Wittrock‘s character Dandy and said he’s game for anything during the Paley Fest panel.

I am so excited, so excited like Jessie Spano, that Matt Bomer is joining the cast of American Horror Story. I just really hope this season does major redemption for Freak Show because it was just so bad.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on FX this October.
