E! Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic is in hot water with actress Zendaya following some comments she said about her on the Monday broadcast of the Oscars Fashion Police special.
The 18-year-old actress/singer wore an off white Vivienne Westwood gown with long dreadlocks channeling Lisa Bonnet‘s Cosby Show character Denise Huxtable at the 2015 Oscars. After turning heads on the red carpet, Zendaya shared photos on her Instagram page of her inspiration for the bold hairstyle [SEE BELOW] and although I’m not a fan of dreads, she still looked beautiful and it works for her. Giuliana Rancic had an interesting opinion about her hair.
On Fashion Police, Rancic said “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil,” referring to Zendaya’s look. Kelly Osbourne or Kathy Griffin, I couldn’t make out in the audio I heard, chimed in “or weed,” with Rancic adding that to her comments. Well that didn’t sit too well with Zendaya and she took to her Instagram page to air out her feelings.
She started the long post with, “There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.” [SEE IN FULL BELOW]
Rancic responded on Twitter posting, “Dear @Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!”
What do you think? Does Zendaya make valid points about Giuliana Rancic’s comments? Talk to me in the comments below.
